Leaked parts round-up: iPad 5 display, iPhone 5S camera, iPhone 5C shell, iPhone 5G?

Photos of leaked iPad and iPhone components have been flooding in so fast this week it’s hard to keep up, so we’ve collected them all in one place for you to take a look at. iphone5scoloursprimary

As we rapidly approach the rumoured release dates of Apple’s upcoming iPad 5iPhone 5Slow-cost iPhone and iPad mini 2, leaked parts seem to be arriving in an endless stream, flooding the web and sparking speculation that all four devices are imminent.

This week, we’ve seen an iPad 5 front panel, an iPhone 5S camera module, the back case of the rumoured ‘iPhone 5C‘ and even a display that’s apparently destined for an ‘iPhone 5G’.

Leaked: iPad 5 front panel and digitizer

This week, Macfixit Australia posted a new listing on its site for a part that it claims belongs to the upcoming fifth-generation iPad.
Photographs published on the site show what appears to be the iPad 5’s front panel, with narrower bezels and a more iPad mini-like design.

In addition, the photographs show a pair of flex cables that differ from the current iPad, and could be used to enable Apple to give the iPad the same 9.7in screen size as its predecessor but within a smaller body.

The iPad 5 is expected to arrive next month.

Leaked: iPhone 5S camera module

Also this week, photographs of an alleged “iPhone 5S’ part were published by French blog Nowhereelse.fr, which show a camera module that suggests the device’s LED flash could be a separate component in the new model.

For comparison, the report shows the leaked camera module alongside the camera currently used in the iPhone 5. As you can see, the camera and LED flash are attached by a ribbon in the iPhone 5.

This could be due to the rumoured introduction of a dual LED flash in the iPhone 5S.

Alternatively, the camera module could belong to the rumoured low-cost iPhone, but the Chinese supplier that leaked this part has labelled it as belonging to the “iPhone 5S”.

The iPhone 5S, as well as the cheaper iPhone, are both expected to arrive in September.

Leaked: Low-cost iPhone shell

If this really is Apple’s rumoured low-cost iPhone, it’s not been a very well kept secret. After all, we’ve already seen similar components leaked from numerous sources over the past few months.

This week, we’ve seen a video from Mac Otakara that allegedly shows a partially assembled low-cost iPhone, which has been dubbed “iPhone 5C” or “iPhone Lite.”

In addition to the video, Sonny Dickson has this week published a gallery of what he claims is a white iPhone 5C rear shell. It looks almost identical to the part shown in the video.

Plus, photos on Weibo.com show the same rear casing but in a rather bright red colour instead of white.

Previous leaks have suggested that the low-cost iPhone could indeed be available in multiple colour options.

Leaked: “iPhone 5G” display

A front panel and digitizer apparently destined for the next-generation iPhone also emerged this week, with the photos shared by uSwitch.com showing a component that closely resembles the iPhone 5 but with a slightly different connector at the top.
The connector matches a separate leak this week from Fanatic Fone, which shows the same component side by side with the corresponding component from the iPhone 5 to highlight the longer and redesigned ribbon cable at the top.
