Sony Mobile launches Xperia M2 at MWC

SonyMobile_XperiaM2_White_HRAt the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Sony Mobile has introduced Xperia M2, one of its four new products. The other products include Sony SmartBand, Xperia Z2 smartphone and Xperia Z2 tablet.

“Xperia M2 is an ultra-fast smartphone that offers brilliant specs and performance, reaching new audiences with a mid-range price. This is a great device for the customer looking for a smartphone that has it all,” said Calum MacDougall, Director, Xperia Marketing, Sony Mobile Communications. “It combines the best of Sony, bringing you our latest technologies complimented with a one of its kind, unique entertainment offer never before seen on a mid-range smartphone.”

Sporting one of the highest resolution camera in its class, the M2’s 8MP camera with Exmor RS for mobile comes armed with Autoscene Recognition and HDR. Xperia camera apps such as Social live, Timeshift burst and Picture Effect help users to get the most out of the 8MP camera, said the company.

With a large 4.8-inch qHD display, the new device also claims to be the slimmest 4G smartphone equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.2Ghz quad-core CPUs and 4G LTE.

It also comes in a dual-SIM variant and is available in three distinct colour options― black, white and purple. Xperia M2 will launch globally from April 2014 and will be available in the Middle East by May. It will be priced at AED 1299 in the United Arab Emirates, and SR 1299 the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
