Veeam Software has announced it has been positioned by Gartner in the ‘Leaders’ quadrant of the June 2016 Magic Quadrant for ‘Data Centre Backup and Recovery Software.’

The 2016 “Magic Quadrant for Data Centre Backup and Recovery Software” is a refocused and updated version of the “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup Software and Integrated Appliances” that was last published in June 2015. The renamed Magic Quadrant and updated market criteria are in response to Gartner client requests to focus more on backup and recovery software for the upper midsize to large enterprises that protect data centre workloads managed by data centre personnel.

“Ask our 193,000 customers and 39,000 partners, and we feel they will not only agree with Gartner that we are a Leader but that we also have pioneered a new industry that extends beyond legacy backup  – enabling enterprises to achieve 24.7.365 availability,” said Ratmir Timashev, CEO, Veeam. “As Gartner states, ‘A fundamental sea change is occurring in the backup and recovery market. For vendors to have long-term success, they must plan to address the legacy requirements of traditional backup and recovery, while looking to expand their integration with and exploitation of emerging applications, hypervisors, snapshot and replication technologies, and public cloud capabilities.’ The upcoming release of Veeam Availability Suite v9.5 later this year, Veeam will continue to innovate and provide its end-users and partners with very best availability solution to meet the needs of upper midsize and large data centres so they are not left behind in the current digital transformation.”

Veeam announced a 24 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in total bookings revenue for Q1 2016, further demonstrating the industry’s growing appetite for Availability. With 75 percent YoY increase in total bookings revenue from large-sized deals, Veeam’s Q1 2016 success clearly demonstrates that enterprises are embracing Veeam’s innovative approach of delivering availability solutions, which enable SLAs (service level agreements) for recovery time and point objectives (RTPO™) of less than 15 minutes for all applications and data.
