Agilent Technologies yesterday commenced its 2011 press event titled, Solving tomorrow’s challenges, in Prague, Czech Republic, with an opening speech from the company’s vice president and general manager, field operations, EMEA, Benoit Neel.
With 33 members of the press from 15 different countries in attendance, the conference agenda concentrated on highlighting the business and market outlook, as well as the challenges and solutions to enable EMEA customers’ satisfaction in the areas of electronic measurement, chemical analysis and life sciences.
“Agilent Technologies has been leading the way with invention and innovation for over 70 years and over the next two days we hope to demonstrate that we are still maintaining our heritage with cutting edge advancements in technology,” said Neel.
Agilent Technologies was also recently awarded a Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Award, 2011, taking the top spot for Global Wireless Test Equipment Markets Share Leadership of the Year Award, the company said.
There were a number of key Agilent employees on site offering impressive presentations on topics ranging from the next generation of wireless technologies, to powerful modular and application product offerings.
“Proliferation of data-hungry, edge-of-network devices, more wireless traffic and a higher data density are all driving future trends, with a recorded 130% data traffic grow over the 2009/2010 financial year,” said Guy Sene, vice president and general manager, microwave communication division, Agilent Technologies.
Announcements of new products from Agilent included the 2.4-GHz Dual Core PXIe embedded controller for functional tests systems as well as the introduction of the industry’s highest-bandwidth PXI data-streaming packages.
Day two of the event will see a closer focus on Agilent’s microwave applications as well as presentations discussing advanced radar and electronic warfare systems. A second session will simultaneously take place in order to address EMC solutions and solving test challenges never before possible using a new range of Agilent SMUs.
Agilent was spun off from Hewlett- Packard Company in 1999 as part of a corporate realignment that created two separate companies.
Agilent Technologies offers a broad range of services and solutions across three lines of business chemical analysis, life sciences and electronic measurements. In addition to which, Agilent Research Laboratories, conduct regular research to anticipate customer needs and develop solutions that power growth. For the year ended December 2010, Agilent Technologies reported net revenues of US $5.4 billion.
