DSO to highlight high-tech enabling ecosystem at GITEX 2011

Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the region’s integrated free zone technology park, today announced it will highlight its offering of an enabling eco-system for the technology industry during its ninth participation at GITEX Technology Week 2011.

During the five-day event, visitors to the DSO stand at  Zabeel Hall ZB10 will have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the competitive cost of operations, state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced IT network, 100% ownership, as well as the expertise and resources offered for business partners at the high-tech park, the company said.

The 31st edition of GITEX will be held from 9 -13 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together industry leaders, decision makers and professionals from around the region and worldwide.

Abdulsalam Rahma Bastaki, VP IT at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said, “GITEX is an excellent platform for DSO to facilitate and encourage technology-based industries, as well as research and development initiatives to be established within its fully integrated and developed tech-park. With thousands of IT professionals and decision makers converging under one roof over the five days, DSO will leverage the event to widen its network. We are confident that our participation at GITEX 2011 will attract heightened investor attention and help us spread awareness on the diversity of DSO’s projects.”

A wholly-owned entity of Dubai Government, Dubai Silicon Oasis operates as a free zone technology park for the semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D facilities in the Middle East and Africa region.
