Etisalat group scoops four awards at Samena Telecom Council in Doha

The Samena Telecommunications Council has honoured Etisalat`s group, with four awards yesterday on the sideline of the Samena Conference “Convergence to Doha 2011” which was held at Sharq Village & SPA by Ritz Carlton Hotel.

His Excellency Ahmad AbdulKarim Julfar, CEO Etisalat group was honoured as the best chief technical leader for the year 2011. He was awarded this prize for his exceptional leadership that took the group to 18 countries around the globe, Etisalat said.

Julfar was appointed Group CEO Etisalat Group in July 2011. Currently, he is on the board of two of Etisalat’s international subsidiaries: Mobily of Saudi Arabia, where he is the chairman of the risk management committee; and Excelcomindo of Indonesia.  He began his career at Etisalat in 1986 and served previously as manager of customer service, GMof E-Company and more recently as the GM for Dubai market in 2005.

According to Etisalat, the telecom’s provider’s mission is to bring the future of communications to the most dynamic regions in the world, no matter how challenging or demanding the market, and that requires innovation.

Etisalat has played an influential role in driving economic growth in the countries they operate in and changing the economic equation of those used their services around the globe.”

Samena Telecommunications Council’s Convergence to Doha 2011, brings together a large number of experts, key decision makers and leading telecommunications executives, representing some of the region’s leading operators, vendors and service providers. The two-day annual flagship event of the tri-regional telecommunications consortium highlighted the endless array of directional possibilities that exist in the highly competitive regional telecommunications industry.
