HKTDC kicks off spring edition of Electronics Fair and ICT Expo

HKEFThe HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair Spring Edition and International ICT Expo open today at the HK Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and will run until 16th April.

According to the organiser, HKTDC, the twin fairs, which is now in its 13th edition, gathered a total of over 3,400 exhibitors from 24 countries that will be showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in the ICT space.

Moreover, HKTDC also highlighted that it had organised over 170 buying missions to bring more than 12,700 international buyers to the event, including major importers and distributors from North America, Australia, South America, Russia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

One of the highlights the event this year is the Hall of Fame, which will feature more than 570 international brands such as Hyundai, Intel, Polaroid and Motorola among others. The hall will host a series of industry seminars, product demo, and launch sessions, among which is a presentation from Microsoft about Virtual Reality and insights from Intel about wearable electronics.

Other features of the twin fairs include the Robotics and Unmanned Tech zone, Wearable Electronics zone, SME IT Clinic, Connected Home zone and e-Commerce zone.

The UAE is Hong Kong’s largest export market in the Middle East. In 2015, Hong Kong’s total exports to the UAE grew more than 13.5 percent YoY to $ 3.4 billion. Inversely, Hong Kong’s imports from the UAE grew more than 6.9 percent YoY to $2,439 million in the same period.
