Jabra takes home three Red Dot awards

Jabra announced on Monday that it had this week won three Red Dot design awards.

The newcomers to the Jabra product portfolio headphones Jabra Revo Wireless, Jabra Vox and the speakerphone Jabra Speak 510 all received awards in the communication technologies category.

This was the fourth consecutive year that Jabra has been given the Red Dot award, the firm said.

The product design competition has existed since 1955 and awards the best products the “Red Dot: best of the best” award from criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, durability and quality. This year 1,865 designers and companies from 54 countries submitted their current designs in the 19 different categories in the “Red Dot award: Product Design 2013”. This year’s jury was faced with a record 4,662 products. As always, there was no pre-selection, with each individual object examined live and on site.

“The Red Dot award is a very important award for all companies focused on delivering a complete user-experience and we are very pleased that our products continue to be recognised as world class design objects,” said Mogens Elsberg, CEO, Jabra. “Our products are well known for their durability, innovative functionalities and great look and feel; we are therefore very pleased that the new generation of both consumer and office products continue to impress the Red Dot jury as well as customers world-wide.

“We know from vast experience that headphones are subjected to a lot of wear and tear so consumers are demanding that they are designed to withstand the rigors of regular use. Jabra’s new line of stereo products has been tested to the extreme, undergoing drop tests, bend tests, fold tests, cable tests, dirt tests and more. These headphones are built to last, without sacrificing style or quality; we are really pleased that this hard work has now been recognised with not only one but two Red Dot awards.”

The third Jabra Red Dot award fell in the speakerphone category and was awarded to the Jabra Speak 510.

Just like the Jabra Speak 510’s older “sister”, the corded Jabra Speak 410 and receiver of the Innovationspreis-IT 2012 at CeBIT and the 2012 IF Design award, the Jabra Speak 510 has taken the world by storm. By the end of 2012 the Jabra Speak 510 and Jabra Speak 410 held sway over the global market for USB enabled speakerphones and have secured a 42 percent global market share.
