HH Sheikh Mohammed witnesses first Service 1 smart wedding

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has witnessed the marriage of a young Emirati at the newly inaugurated ‘Service 1’ centre in Dubai.

The ceremony was held in the presence of the couple’s families using the smart service package ‘Mabrook Ma Dabrat,’ which translates to ‘congratulations on your marriage.’

According to reports, the service uses smart technology in that links the centre to a Dubai Courts official to complete the marriage contract according to the Islamic Sharia and legal procedures. Emirati couples can also apply for a housing loan request or apply to be included in a mass wedding.

The groom Omar Sultan AlOlama, sat in one of the booths at the Service 1 centre and through a smart screen he spoke to lawyer from Dubai Courts who had him recite the words necessary to wed his bride, Amal bin Shabib.

He also signed the contract and received the notarised marriage license via a roaming robot.

Mabrook Ma Dabrat is one of a number of Smart Government services offered at the new Service 1 centre.

The centre provides 14 government services to customers with the help of a single employee using artificial intelligence technology developed by IBM Watson and Cognit Mubadala.
