Sony announces MEA launch of Xperia C smartphone

xperia cSony today announced the Middle East and Africa launch of its Xperia C, a dual SIM Android smartphone.

The phone can accommodate two interchangeable 3G and 2G SIM cards, and has a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor

It comes with an 8 MP camera with Exmor R. Xperia C also has a dedicated camera key that can shoot from a locked screen,

The self-portrait function and voice guide instruct the user how to take “selfies”.

Ruediger Odenbach, Vice President, Middle East and Africa, Sony Mobile Communications AB, said: “A picture speaks a thousand words. Xperia C leverages the expertise and components that are the hallmark of leading Sony cameras to bring you the best possible viewing and imaging experience in its range.

“It also addresses the needs of busy multi-taskers by providing flexibility through dual SIM cards.”

Users can “Throw” content from their Bluetooth smartphone to Wi-Fi-enabled TVs through screen mirroring or DLNA, or can send their tunes to a speaker via Bluetooth.

Using “Throw”, a smart application integrated into Xperia apps, enables the smartphone to find the best way to wirelessly connect to other devices.

It features a 5-inch display with qHD (540×960 pixel) display, and has 4GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB.

The Xperia C will be available from the first week of November and is priced at AED 1,199.
