Brocade unveils mobility solutions

Brocade Communications Systems today announced the Brocade Mobility next-generation 802.11 wireless LAN (WLAN) solution set, featuring a full line of wireless switches and dual- and tri-radio 802.11n access points (AP) to deliver highly reliable and secure wireless connectivity required by enterprises, while helping to minimize acquisition and operational costs.

The new Brocade Mobility 802.11n solution set leverages Motorola’s 802.11a/b/g/n adaptive access points (APs) and wireless switches/controllers for high-bandwidth, reliable coverage.

“Motorola has a long heritage of innovation in advancing wireless networking and applications to help enterprises realize the power of mobility,” said Sujai Hajela, vice president and general manager for Enterprise WLAN, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. “We are pleased to partner with Brocade and see a strong opportunity for an integrated high-performance, end-to-end wired and wireless business network solution set for the enterprise market.”

Brocade Mobility is a comprehensive portfolio of wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure solutions designed to enable the truly wireless enterprise, regardless of the size of your business — from large enterprises with locations all over the world to branch offices and small businesses.

The Brocade Mobility suite delivers Internet protocol (IP) coverage to virtually all spaces – both indoors and outdoors utilizing time-tested, highly resilient, high performance and secure wireless networking solutions. Brocade Mobility solutions help to substantially reduce network deployment and maintenance costs, and promote the availability of cost-effective wireless connectivity in every corner of the enterprise.

The tri-radio design of Motorola APs provide excellent value, integrating a WIPS sensor for gap-free, 24×7 security while eliminating the need for multiple hardware purchases and extra cabling. The Brocade Mobility solution offers a comprehensive feature set, including adaptive AP technology for resiliency, real-time location system (RTLS) for asset tracking, SMART RF management to dynamically address changes in the RF environment, and a wireless firewall for maximized Layer 2 and 3 protection. The Brocade Mobility products can be managed by Brocade’s INM network management system seamlessly with Brocade’s wired products.
