In terms of the deal, Logicom will provide the channel the entire range of Hitachi’s GST products in the Middle East, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Balkans and Italy, ensuring increased availability of Hitachi’s portfolio in the region as part of its ongoing growth strategy.
Steve Pereira, VP at Hitachi GST, Europe Middle East and Africa says as the company enters the second half of 2010 and the demand for HDD and external storage solutions among consumers and business enterprise continues to grow, its important to ensure that Hitachi is well placed to take advantage of the opportunities that the Middle East, Balkans and Turkey present. “The agreement with Logicom ensures that we have the necessary focus in the region to address the opportunities that the market presents, and also ensures that we are able to offer the greater access to our broad range of solutions,” he says.
Michael Papaeracleous, executive director of distribution at Logicom, remarks that this partnership makes sense for both companies and it’s great that Logicom’s customers will start to benefit from increased availability of Hitachi’s products. “We believe there is great potential in all our markets and we have a good plan in place to help Hitachi achieve its goals,” he concludes.
Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has expanded the distribution of its hard disk drives (HDD) and external storage solutions after the vendor appointed regional distributor Logicom.
