The project entails quick and easy payment of parking fees with hardware and software that will allow payment through credit and debit cards. The move strengthens the OMA Emirates solutions portfolio, and highlights the company’s focus on providing a wider range of services while supporting the growing regional parking needs.

SKIDATA made its entry into the Middle East in 2000 and has made strong progress with services provided to several key airports, shopping malls, recreational facilities and theme parks.

“Parking facilities have seen tremendous growth in the Middle East with growing need for better facilities to be provided to visitors across several sectors. Simultaneously OMA Emirates has been making a conscious effort to evaluate growth opportunities and has found the perfect partner in SKIDATA to make our entry into payment solutions for parking management. Their global leadership and large base of existing installations in the region provides us a strong entry into the market and will be supported by Ingenico’ s unattended terminals for card payments across SKIDATA’s parking solutions and installations,” said Niranj Sangal, Group CEO, OMA Emirates Group.

OMA Emirates will provide Ingenico’s iSelf solution with hardware that will be integrated with SKIDATA’s software and will comply with their required specifications. The payment terminals meet with the highest and latest mandatory hardware and software security requirements. The enablement of EMV chip and PIN and magstripe transactions on kiosks improves customer interactivity which are simple, faster and more secure.  It also supports the increasing use of use of contactless payments in the region which includes e-wallet and NFC/contactless cards and complies with industry standards such as MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave.

“SKIDATA supports the customer through the whole journey. From the first discussion of the used case to the project design, implementation and after sales and support. We are right there where our customers are – another reason why we have opened 25 subsidiaries worldwide, with the newest in the United Arab Emirates.  Right now, we are extending our product offerings in all segments in the GCC region, and having a proper credit card solution with a top notch partner like OMA-Emirates is an important step. I am sure that many of our existing customers will use this to upgrade their installations,” said Philipp Heindl, Executive Director, SKIDATA Middle East LLC and Regional Manager GCC, SKIDATA.

The growing number of airports, amusement parks, stadiums and retail facilities in the region provide OMA Emirates and SKIDATA vast potential for business growth opportunities. The two companies underlined plans to look at possible synergies in India and other countries.
