Optimus inks pact with Cloud Security Alliance

Optimus Technology and Telecommunications has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the global thought-leader in cloud security to launch and promote the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) programme in the Middle East and North Africa region.  As an Authorised Training Partner of CSA, Optimus Academy will conduct training programs for the CCSK examination, where IT professionals can build a strong foundation and understanding of key information security concepts and the ability to apply these concepts toward cloud computing security.

“Security in cloud deployment is the biggest concern in the Middle East. To address these concerns and to fill the gap, Optimus decided to partner with a global premier organization such as CSA to bring the CCSK course to the Middle East. CSA has done a tremendous job in driving awareness for cloud security issues globally and we want to bring that to this region as well,” said  Meera Kaul, Managing Director, Optimus Technology and Telecommunications.

“The CCSK is not only a certification, but also an important step towards improving security professionals, which co-relates with better understanding of Cloud security and its challenges and best practices. Through Optimus Academy, we plan to offer our partners access to CSA’s resources, knowledge and tools that will help them tackle threats posed by pervasive technologies such as cloud computing,”  Kaul added.

The Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) ensures that technology professionals with a responsibility related to cloud computing have a demonstrated awareness of the security threats and best practices for securing the cloud. The CCSK examination is a web-based, multiple choice examination of individual competency in key Cloud security issues. Optimus Academy will offer training programs on CCSK to assist partners in successfully completing the CCSK examination and gaining practical experience in securing cloud computing.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Optimus for the Middle East region. With Cloud being in the focus and critical services being provided via the cloud, there is an urgent need for cloud security skills among IT professionals. The CCSK is a low cost certification that establishes a robust baseline of cloud security knowledge. Combined with existing professional certifications, it helps provide necessary assurance of user competency in this important area of growth. We are confident IT professionals will benefit from this training while dealing with cloud security issues,” concluded Jim Reavis, co-founder and executive director of the Cloud Security Alliance.

With this partnership, Optimus aims to create a skilled and knowledgeable ecosystem wherein their channel and end user community will be able to choose and deploy the right Cloud Security strategy and solutions. The CCSK program further enhances Optimus’ value offering to the region and establishes the company as a serious Thought Leader in the Cloud Computing and Security space.
