Software AG acquires my-Channels for universal messaging technology

Software AG has announced the recent acquisition of London based my-Channels, a move that complements and extends Software AG’s current integration technology through my-Channels’ fast (low latency) messaging software.

The acquisition of my-Channels will enable Software AG’s customers to integrate their enterprise applications, cloud-based applications, and mobile devices through a unique, universal messaging layer, the company said. Customers will now have the ability to stream large volumes of critical data to employees, customers and partners anywhere, over any channel and to any device.

This is a major step in implementing Software AG’s strategy for the in-memory management of Big Data. my-Channels technology supports modern messaging standards such as MQTT and HTML5/webSockets.

“This acquisition, as an integral part of our portfolio strategy, will give our customers a huge competitive advantage. An advantage in terms of the performance of their internal enterprise communications today and in the flexibility and scalability provided in adopting new information delivery channels, as they emerge, to external customers,” said Dr. Wolfram Jost, CTO, Software AG. “This technology will play a fundamental role in customers successfully and cost effectively implementing their own Cloud, In-memory, Big Data or Mobile application strategies.”

Marco Gerazounis, senior VP Middle East North Africa andTurkey, Software AG, added,“It is our commitment to continue to expand the breadth of Software AG’s core offerings and add greater value in the delivery of our products and services. The acquisition of my-Channels is an important step in this direction as it supports the growth plans of our clients in the Middle East. We are now more strongly positioned to deliver a powerful, cost-effective solution that can help clients achieve business process excellence.”

“From the outset of our conversations with Software AG it was very clear that the incorporation of my-Channels Nirvana into Software AG’s existing product suite made complete sense”, said my-Channels CEO, Paul Brant. “I am very confident that this acquisition, and the technology integration that will follow, will also make sense to both my-Channels and Software AG customers. The combination of the two product portfolios will open many new application areas that will be of great interest to our customers.”

my-Channels’s Nirvana is a message orientated middleware product that enables bi-directional streaming of data between any combination of internal and external systems/clients. It provides a messaging platform capable of streaming hundreds of thousands of messages to many thousands of clients within micro seconds. In addition to supporting enterprise messaging standards such as JMS, it also support modern messaging standards such MQTT and HTML5/webSockets. It provides feature-rich and consistent APIs for a wide range of platforms including Java, C# .NET, C++ and more. Its messaging capabilities can be embedded into mobile devices running iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows. And it can be used to integrate messaging with browser-based applications using JavaScript, Adobe Flex and Microsoft Silverlight.
