UAE’s online retailer AWOK announces Black Friday deals

AWOKUAE-based e-commerce business AWOK.com has announced deals for Black Friday, which will run from 22nd to 25th November. The online retailer is hoping to attract shoppers from the city’s retail malls, according to a release on Zawya.

AWOK.com is participating at the Black Friday sale for the third consecutive year. The e-tailer said that it had witnessed a 100 percent increase in sales in 2016 and aims to repeat that this year as well.

Ulugbek Yuldashev, CEO and founder, AWOK.com, “We have put great emphasis into customising the type of deals we offer during this year’s Black Friday sale as our customers expect to have access to all to newest products, latest technologies and hottest brands on offer. We are offering discounts upto 90 percent discounts during this sale.

AWOK.com said deals on some electronic brands will include Apple iPhone X for AED 729, the Apple Series 3 Smart Watch for AED 145, Dell Laptop for 187 AED, the Samsung Note 8 for AED 699.

However, the flash sale terms and conditions of the e-tail store states. “the participant should have made a minimum of one purchase from Awok.com prior to the Flash Sale participation” and “Awok.com will not accept responsibility for any loss, damage, injury, or dissatisfaction faced by the participant purchasing from the Flash Sale deals, or as a result from participating or accepting the same.”

The e-tailer said it will also extend its deals to Saudi Arabia customers for the first time during Black Friday.

Research firm Frost & Sullivan said it expects to value the UAE e-commerce market at $10 billion by 2018. Earlier in the week, Souq.com had announced its White Friday sale where the e-tailer expects to have over 500,000 deals across the region.
