Fortinet announces Network Security Academy

FORTINET_Alain PenelFortinet has introduced the Fortinet Network Security Academy (FNSA), designed to develop and train action-oriented cybersecurity experts to manage new and advanced threats on the horizon.

“Cyber security is a top priority for the governments in the region, but we have a dearth of security skills. We are hoping to bridge this gap by providing training and certification opportunities for students, and help prepare them for a career in network security. The first FNSA site in the region should be up and running before the end of this year,” said Alain Penel, Regional VP of Fortinet.

Penel says FNSA was created to address the international shortage of cybersecurity experts and to build a workforce skilled in all aspects of Fortinet’s end-to-end network security fabric who will be recognised in the industry among an elite group of security professionals. From code to client to cloud, the Academy brings the training and certification opportunities previously only offered to Fortinet customers and partners to educational institutions, non-profit organizations and veterans programs. Training for faculty is free of charge for these organisations, arming the professors with the skills required to teach the program to students who will learn how to protect global organisations from cyber threats.

The company is exhibiting at GISEC showcasing its advanced threat protection systems and Secure Access Architecture framework, which was announced last year.

The new framework aims to expand Fortinet’s Internal Segmentation strategy and looks to enable organisations to segment devices and the access layers across wired and wireless networks.

Fortinet said the Secure Access Architecture provides a broad platform of integrated solutions that span from the client to the Cloud.
