Sophos flaunts new endpoint security offering

Sophos is placing the spotlight on its ‘synchronised security’ strategy, as part of its participation at this year’s GITEX Technology Week.sophos

According to the company, synchronised security automates incident response via instant sharing of threat, security, and health information between endpoint and network. It eliminates the manual work of trying to figure out who, what and when a compromise happened. The company noted that the strategy is focused on securing both endpoints and networks. In line with this, the company is showcasing its extensive portfolio of next-gen endpoint, network and encryption security solutions during the show.

Harish Chib, Vice President, Middle East and Africa, Sophos, said, “We are the first security vendor to deliver synchronised security, directly linking next-generation endpoint security and next-generation firewall to share threat intelligence that enables faster detection of threats, automatic isolation of infected devices, and more immediate and targeted response and resolution.”

Synchronised security, according to Sophos, automates incident response via instant sharing of threat, security, and health information between endpoint and network. It also significantly reduces time spent on the tedious task of trying to figure out who, what and when a compromise happened.

Chib then highlighted the growing concern from the industry about the increasing cases of ransomware attacks. “To help customers address this challenge, we have introduced a next-generation endpoint security product that can help fend off zero-day malware and unknown exploit variants – Intercept X.”

Intercept X has an anti-ransomware feature that can detect previously unknown ransomware within seconds. It installs alongside existing endpoint security software from any vendor, immediately boosting endpoint protection by stopping malicious code before it executes.

Speaking about GITEX, Chib noted that the event present numerous opportunities as it brings together MEA’s top ICT thought leaders on a single platform while becoming a launch pad for lucrative ICT partnerships, exciting deals and new innovations for MEA businesses. “Sophos has been participating at GITEX as a leading security vendor for MEA and we have shared extensive thought-leadership with this platform,” said Chib. “The event, being the largest ICT exhibition in the region, remains an ideal platform for us to showcase our best-in-class security solutions portfolio, meet with regional customers and partners at a single venue and strengthen our channel network.”

He also noted that GITEX 2016 is a great opportunity to meet potential customers and partners and share Sophos’ managed security solutions with them. “It is also opens up new avenues for us to strengthen our channel network further by meeting and appointing new results-oriented partners in countries where we would like to increase our market share and reach.”
