UAE govt portal maps out future until 2117

The official UAE Government Portal (government.ae) presents a pillar that highlights the future milestones of the UAE journey until 2117, within the context of the national vision and the directives of the wise leadership, to work towards creating a future full of happiness, achievement, sustainability and leadership.

The UAE’s ‘Future’ page includes a specific timeline for the UAE’s journey during the next decades, towards the project of ‘Mars 2117’, which includes in its final stages building the first inhabitable human settlement on Mars, and a national program to prepare scientific cadres to explore the red planet.

This informative page sheds the light on the ‘Centennial Plan 2071’ launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The plan includes a comprehensive and long-term vision extends for 5 decades, and constitutes a clear map of government work to enhance the country’s reputation and soft-strength. It also includes information on the different future plans of the Emirates such as Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy, Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and others.

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), said: ‘The official portal of the UAE Government represents the electronic presence of the country. It is a comprehensive informative framework, open for the participation of the public in order to develop the content of the portal. The competent teams of the mGovernment have worked to redevelop the portal according to the latest international developments as well as the local needs, to contribute in enhancing the leading position of the UAE in digital presence and smart transformation.’

TRA has launched the updated version of the UAE Government official portal in 9 April 2017, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, at the Union Museum in Dubai. The event was organized by the government to develop the work of the 36 Executive Teams, which have been formed according to H.H. directives to work under H.H. direct supervision and follow-up, to achieve the objectives of the National Agenda.

The portal is compatible with the latest international developments in e-presence and governmental e-portals. It has a smart, powerful and accurate search engine, and a sub-portal for e-participation according to the latest features. It includes comprehensive information about various aspects of interests to the customers’ segments, including 17 topics that also include sub-topics on detailed governmental and non-governmental information. It also contains An A to Z services page.

Moreover, in line with the government directives to enhance connectivity and quality, the portal includes the Smart Pass service, which allows users to access services from third entities without the need to re-register. Browsers can take advantage of comments and feedback feature to improve the content to suit their needs.

The design of the portal took into account the principle of simplicity, easy navigation and shortening the distance to reach the needed information. The portal includes the history of the UAE, which dates back to the beginning of civilisation in this region thousands of years ago, as well as comprehensive information about the country.
