IBM signs strategic agreement with Tanfeeth- a subsidiary of Emirates NBD

Tanfeeth, a wholly owned subsidiary of Emirates NBD, today announced a long term strategic agreement with IBM to support Tanfeeth’s vision to become the GCC’s first shared services organisation.

In its role, representatives of Tanfeeth said that the organisation will look to deliver service excellence across the entire business value chain. “We are focused on helping our customers make their processes more efficient, consistent and more importantly, geared towards making their customers happier,” said Abdulla Qaseem, chairman, Tanfeeth.

The companies announced that IBM would provide managed services for Tanfeeth’s HR, finance and administration operations in addition to which, Tanfeeth would also use other IBM software applications including the Business Process Management Suite, Command Centre and Time Volume Capture to improve workflow management.

Through this agreement with IBM, Tanfeeth said that it would offer it’s clients customised shared services solutions to enhance back office processes and customer facing operations.

“Tanfeeth is working IBM to provide next generation business process services that comprise a blend of efficiencies, business model transformation and predictive analytics to help organisations in the Middle East cope with the need to scale quickly to meet the demands of rapid growth,” said John Lutz, GM, IBM Global Process Services.

According to IBM, it will focus on change management with extensive training and development to ease the transition for Tanfeeth employees and clients. “This includes 24 hour access to IBM’s online training solution and worldwide leadership programme,” he said.

Lutz said that IBM sees immense potential in the shared services market in the region. “In a tough economic climate, business process services afford opportunities for savings and efficiency. This is why, we at IBM believe, more organisations will see the cost benefits associated with making investments in technology that provisions sustainable growth through greater customer satisfaction.”

IBM also announced that the Middle East market is one of immense strategic importance to the company and therefore it will continue to expand its local presence in a region through a series of branch offices while it simultaneously contributes to the development of a local ICT talent pool.
