Avaya have launched an iPad app that enables enterprise-class voice, instant messaging and presence with email integration over Wi-Fi and 3g networks, it announced today.
The Avaya Flare Communicator app is now available through the Apple app store as a free download, and Avaya plans to extend it to additional consumer devices and operating systems later this year.
It will provide a secure platform for enterprises to communicate and collaborate from, as well as allowing multi-tasking like reading an email, attending a web conference and web browser simultaneously, and managing two voice calls at the same time.
“With Avaya Flare Communicator on iPad, enterprise users have a seamless mobile collaboration experience that integrates various methods of communication all at their fingertips,” said Nidal Abou-Ltaif, VP Emerging Markets at Avaya.
“As the mobile workforce continues to grow, applications like Flare Communicator ensure that the tools they use simultaneously provide the consistency and flexibility needed for these workers to be truly effective,” Abou-Ltaif added.
