Brother Gulf hosts business workshop for distributors

Brother International Corporation Gulf (BICG) has concluded a business planning workshop for its key distributors in the region, which involved discussions on how to increase market share, raise profit margin and drive growth in the MFC market. The manufacturer also honoured its top partners in the Middle East during the event, including UAE-based Jumbo Electronics Co. Ltd., which received an award for its significant contribution to BICG’s mono laser printer regional market share, and was named as the ‘Gold Partner for Sales & Marketing in the Region’. Furthermore, another local company – Al Mahbara Office Equipment Trading – received the ‘Best P-Touch Sales’ award for setting record sales within FY 2008 – 2009.

A total of 20 distributors from different countries across the Middle East and Africa attended the workshop, where top management officials from BICG announced the company’s strategy to focus on the high-end inkjet MFCs printer market as well as colour laser MFC segment in the year ahead. In addition, BICG reiterated the importance of maintaining the current level of product movement for mono laser MFCs, and revealed plans to undertake massive eMarketing initiatives across the region. Furthermore, the company announced its plans to roll out more attractive incentives to reward partners that achieve the highest sales performance in high-end inkjet and laser MFCs.

Speaking at the event, Shinji Tada, Managing Director, BICG, said, “In addition to our technologically-advanced products and the value these equipment add to corporate, SMB and home offices, the success of BICG across the MENA region is also being driven by our distribution partners, whose extensive efforts has translated to expanded reach and multiplied product movement for us in the past years. Their efforts, combined with our highly strategic market plans, have further secured our leading position in the regional MFC market. We congratulate our top partners in the UAE and the rest of the region, and we are positive that they will carry on with their tremendous work.”

Other winners included Electronic Business Equipment SARL (Lebanon) and Al Maktaba Co. Ltd. (KSA), who were recognised as Silver and Bronze partners, respectively; in addition to Video Home & Electronic Centre from Qatar (Best Retail and Mass Market Sales), Business Machines Tanzania Limited from Tanzania (Best Distribution Network) and Arabian Business Machines Co. from Kuwait (Best Corporate Sales). Also awarded for securing the highest regional market share were ALMOAYYED Commercial Services from Bahrain (Highest Colour Laser Printer Market Share), and General Computers & Electronics Co. from Jordan (Highest Mono Laser Printer Market Share). Furthermore, Sagar International TechnoSys P. Ltd. from Nepal was adjudged as the partner who has undertaken the best marketing initiatives.
