EMC was named the best IT company to work for, according to the Best Companies to Work for In Saudi Survey 2011. The survey was conducted in partnership between the Saudi Research and Publishing Group through Al-Eqtesadiah Newspaper and TeamOne Consulting. EMC Saudi was especially praised for their ability to merge EMC’s HR best practices with Saudi Arabia’ labour regulations to foster an environment that helps attract, retain and enhance talented employees from both in and around the region.
While some of these best practices include the organization’s overall focus on employee training and engagement; they also include tailored policies to support ambitious young Saudi nationals within the organization. For instance, Saudi General Organization of Social insurance (GOSI) requires Nationals working in the country to pay a charge of 9% on their monthly salaries, a factor that acts as a significant deterrent for many young nationals to work in the Kingdom. EMC Saudi pays the GOSI fee for every National employee so that they may receive their hard earned salaries every month without any subtractions.
Initiatives such as the former have helped EMC Saudi attract and retain a significant pool of talented Saudi nationals across various level of the organization from sales and technical positions to project management and leadership roles.
To encourage professional growth and learning, EMC Saudi has engaged employees through a series of distinct training programs seeking to build existing skillsets.
