Huawei scoops Middle East telecoms awards

Huawei Recognized as Middle East Vendor of the Year - Comms MEA AwardsHuawei is set to close 2013 on form after being honoured as Middle East Vendor of the Year at both the Telecom Review Awards and the CommsMEA Awards 2013 for the fifth successive year.

On the telecom front, Huawei’s projects included deploying the first commercial 400G IP Core Network in KSA as well as working in Kuwait to deploy the first 100G network in the Middle East to support greater broadband user experience.

Supporting the next generation of LTE-Advanced services in the region, Huawei also joined hands with partners to launch the region’s first commercial LTE-A network and to successfully test voice over LTE (VoLTE) services for the very first time in the UAE.

“We are honored to have been chosen for these prestigious accolades, which is a strong affirmation of Huawei’s commitment to the regional telecom sector as a trusted & preferred partner for customers in both the government and private sectors,” said Shi Yaohong, President, Huawei, Middle East.

As we continue to invest in bold technology solutions for the Middle East, Huawei will also look at even more ways to advance the wider ICT ecosystem through closer relationships with our partners, providing telecom operators, enterprises and consumers with integrated communication tools.”
