Motorola broadens data capture portfolio

The Enterprise Mobility Solutions business of Motorola has announced new advanced data capture solutions designed to improve operational efficiencies and ultimately enhance the customer experience. Motorola’s MT2000 series of bar code scanners combines the simplicity of a scanner with the brainpower of a mobile computer – packaged in an ergonomic form factor. With the new MK4000 micro kiosk, enterprise organizations are equipped with a variety of interactive self-service features for customer- and employee-facing applications to help redefine the shopping experience.

“Motorola’s advanced data capture solutions go beyond scanning – offering versatile tools that help change the way enterprise organizations do business,” said Al Quinn, vice president and general manager of advanced data capture, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. “The new MK4000 and MT2000 are a testament to Motorola’s rich history of innovation and our commitment to providing customers with breakthrough products to gain a competitive advantage.”

MT2000 Bar Code Scanner – Power of a Mobile Computer in a Scanner

The MT2000 series of bar code scanners provide the power of a mobile computer in a handheld, rugged bar code scanner – the industry’s first device of this kind. The MT2000 series is an affordable and easy-to-use device capable of streamlining scan-intensive business operations for small to medium sized customers in the manufacturing, retail, warehouse, healthcare and supply chain industries.

The rugged MT2000 series allows enterprises to extend the benefits of automated data capture to those workers who do not require a higher end fully featured mobile computer. Application development and deployment is fast and easy. The industry standard Microsoft® .Net Framework enables the easy creation of new applications. Since MCL Technologies’ MCL-Client® software is pre-loaded onto the devices, the optional MCL Designer® software allows existing applications developed for other Motorola mobile computers to be ported to the MT2000 series with point-and-click simplicity. By pre-loading ready-to-use inventory applications, customers can begin using the MT2000 scanner moments after taking it out of the box.

Available in two entry-level models, the MT2070 and MT2090 can quickly help reduce inefficiencies and increase productivity. Offered with a choice of laser or imager scan engine for application flexibility, both devices offer multiple connectivity options. Both support integrated Bluetooth® and can be connected to a host device via USB. The MT2090 supports integrated 802.11 a/b/g wireless while the MT2070 is designed to be used in batch mode.
