SAP urges Middle East businesses to adapt

Business applications vendor SAP has urged Middle East businesses to learn to adapt to a continuously shifting global landscape. Jose Duarte, president and CEO at SAP Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) told regional business leaders in Dubai that innovation, execution, compliance and people should be the key value components in all executive strategy and decision making.

Jose Duarte, president and CEO at SAP Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) told regional business leaders in Dubai that innovation, execution, compliance and people should be the key value components in all executive strategy and decision making.

Delivering a keynote address to more than 2000 delegates at the 2008 SAP Forum comprising SAP’s clients and partners in the region, Duarte said organisations in the Middle East are moving at an incredible speed and those which aspire to take their business to the next level require the agility and ability to react quickly and embrace change.

“From delivering superior customer value while returning the best employees to enabling operational and financial excellence, Middle East organisations of all sizes must learn to align multiple fundamental value components with the new business priorities presented by the current environment,” he says

He said organisations of all sizes in the region can benefit from the adoption of best practice tools and methodologies.

Sergio Macotta, MD at SAP Middle East and North Africa (MENA) said SAP has enabled the ongoing global success stories of some of the biggest public sector and private sector names from Egypt’s postal authority to Saudi Arabia’s largest oil producing company.

This year’s SAP Forum, the largest single vendor business and technology event in the Middle East region coincided with the vendor’s one year anniversary of the establishement of SAP MENA.
