Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) in conjunction with Optimus Technology and Telecommunications has announced the inaugural Silicon Oasis TechForum networking event, a platform that will bring professionals, experts, academics and students together to boost technology entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.

The event is scheduled to be held on the 10th July from 7:00pm onwards at DSO-based Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai, it was reported.

The first edition of the Silicon Oasis TechForum will include speakers from Micrsoft Middle East and Bitdefender and focus on highlighting emerging trends and addressing the growing demands from IT security in the region, representatives said.

Ghanim Al Falasi, senior VP, corporate services at DSOA, said, “The inaugural Silicon Oasis TechForum comes as our part of our efforts to support the UAE’s technology sector and position Dubai as a premier regional hub. We invite individuals interested in networking with like-minded professionals and sharing their experiences and ideas to help promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the region. We look forward to connecting diverse groups of people to support each other’s business and concepts.”

Meera Kaul, managing director, Optimus Technology and Telecommunications, said, “TechForum events are set to be recognised as capacity building networking platforms. The initiative will support innovation and technology entrepreneurship in the region.”

Silicon Oasis TechForum is a collaborative initiative of DSOA and Optimus Technology and Telecommunications and is additionally backed by Silicon Oasis Founders (SOF), a technology incubation centre wholly owned by Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), and Silicon Oasis Ventures (SOV).

The Forum will feature monthly community gatherings that host industry specialists who will offer easy to understand presentations on topical industry subjects to educate and stimulate discussion. Silicon Oasis TechForum is working closely with leaders in the tech-space, academia as well as technology and business communities such as incubators to host joint activities.
