Seven Seas Computers attains ISO 9001:2008 certification

Seven Seas Computers, a leading end-to-end ICT solutions provider, has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, reaffirming the company’s commitment to world-class quality standards and service to clients and partners.

Industrial service provider Vinçotte International Middle East conducted a two-stage recertification audit and conferred the ISO 9001:2008 certification after comprehensive and rigorous assessment of Seven Seas’ Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures and systems.

Speaking at the formal handover of the certification, Nayagam Pillai, CEO Seven Seas said, “We are very pleased and proud to have crossed this milestone and be honoured with this certification. We decided it was imperative to focus on getting recertified to the new standard in order to engrain an evolved ‘quality’ culture within the company and incorporate best practices in compliance with ISO standards. I would like to wholeheartedly thank and congratulate our highly competent ISO team at Seven Seas”.

Alan Rego, Management Representative of the ISO Team and Sales Manager at Seven Seas said, “Seven Seas Computers has been committed to continuous improvement in ISO 9001 quality management systems since 1997. Our quality systems and processes have evolved ever since and we were enthusiastic to embrace and fulfill the requirements of the new ISO 9001:2008 standard. The certification will help reiterate our commitment to quality as the standards evolve. This would reassure our customers of world class quality standards of our processes, systems and professionals employed by Seven Seas in delivering complete end-to-end solutions on time, on budget and on target”.

Efforts to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 began with the appointment of a core ISO team and training of the staff on the new standard in 2009 as soon as it was announced. Vinçotte International Middle East, the external auditors, conducted a two part assessment. The first stage included a system appraisal involving a review of the quality management system (QMS), policy, quality objectives, quality manual and all the mandatory procedures that are required by the ISO 9001:2008 standards. The second stage completed involved an audit of all departments at Seven Seas Computers in detail – scrutinising the process, procedures and systems to test the QMS system efficiency and effectiveness.
