Riverbed Technology has announced the promotion of Elie Dib to the position of regional vice president for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT).

His leadership of the regional sales team has resulted in “deeper penetration” into key industry verticals including government, defence, finance, oil and gas and most recently, retail.

He will continue to report directly to Riverbed’s EMEA SVP Andy Elder, who said, “Through his tenure at Riverbed, Elie has held senior management roles, including responsibility for the channel and subsequently our entire operations in the region. He has successfully implemented initiatives that have streamlined our business processes and strengthened our relationships with the channel community.”

Dib, who previously held the position of regional managing director, was responsible for deepening relationships with key channel partners as well as leading the sales team to drive much closer engagement with customers in the region. “Through our investment, we have developed a set of focused partners who have achieved the highest level of sales and technical proficiency across our portfolio, and together we are creating new business opportunities with our joint customers and delivering comprehensive, integrated solutions to them,” Dib said.

Dib intends to continue to focus on the sales, channel, and technical sales teams, and has a clearly defined strategy to position Riverbed as the fundamental provider of visibility for network, application and end-user experience monitoring. “Every enterprise is a potential customer for Riverbed, and we will penetrate new accounts by first addressing their pressing need for end-to-end visibility. Once we have demonstrated our ability to solve some of the greatest IT challenges organisations face, we can demonstrate the importance of the products in our portfolio which are designed to tightly integrate into a holistic platform for application performance.”

The recent Riverbed Future of Networking Global Survey 2017 revealed that 93 percent of respondents intend to implement SD-WAN within the next four years. Dib said, “While conversations are still in their early stages, we are keen to ensure our customers start adopting next-generation software-defined technologies, to keep pace with the changing demands of cloud and hybrid networking and help accelerate their digital transformation strategies.

“We see plenty of opportunities in METNA characterised by enterprises that are keen to use the very latest technologies to enhance the services they deliver to customers. Today, businesses run on applications, and our ability to address the performance, visibility, and control of applications, whether they are based on-premise or in the cloud, makes us extremely relevant to the market.”
