LG Uplus recently announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop agentic AI that automatically installs complex cloud-native network software. They estimate that this new method will help reduce installation time by up to 80%.
The pre-trained software on network design documents results in agentic AI autonomously handling all processes, from cloud infrastructure construction and network equipment parameter collection to configuration and installation, without human intervention, a statement explained.
The pair used AWS’ Bedrock and Strands-Agents SDK to enable multiple AI agents to work together to automate the installation of network software, which they said lowers technical barriers.
AI replaces the process of manually installing equipment, which generally requires specialised engineers. This significantly reduces the time needed for development and iterative testing and minimises errors that can occur during manual work, the statement noted.
Lee Sang-heon, head of Network Advanced Development at LG Uplus, stated it expects to “achieve a new level of customer quality innovation” using agentic AI, a core technology for automating networks.
