T-Mobile US recently introduced nationwide network slicing for businesses as part of their new SuperMobile plan. This initiative also includes built-in security and satellite connectivity through its StarLink partnership.
After rolling out its out its standalone (SA) 5G network across the US in 2020 ahead of rivals AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile launched its 5G-Advanced network nationwide in April. It uses the network to deliver network slicing to businesses and first responders.
Using the operator’s entire 238MHz of spectrum, network slicing allows it to steer, prioritise and manage traffic based on users’ priorities at a given time.
The plan includes advanced encryption, device authentication and privacy protections, along with Threat Protect to secure smartphones, even on public Wi-Fi.
A representative for T-Mobile told Mobile World Live all the security elements are in the operator’s Trust Center, which is a hub for cybersecurity certifications, reports, audits, and scores.
Companies such as Delta Air Lines are using SuperMobile to support complex operations and for team coordination while Axis Energy Services benefits from satellite connectivity to maintain communications with employees in remote oil fields
SuperMobile will be available starting 28 August for businesses of all sizes. The operator is offering a free 30-day of the plan.
