Abu Dhabi, U.A.E: Jan 26, 2021: PTC, the American software company for digital transformation, today announced that its award-winning ThingWorx Industrial IoT platform has been selected by EDGE, the advanced technology group for defence and beyond, to optimise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), real-time visibility, and achieve Enterprise Operational Intelligence (EOI) across its manufacturing operations.
ThingWorx was selected by EDGE and its entities for a pilot project after a complex evaluation of multiple IoT platforms, supported by the local office of PTC in the UAE. Over 40 machines will be connected, beginning with LAHAB , HALCON and EPI.
Following implementation of the awarding winning IIoT platform, EDGE will be able to leverage pre-built solutions as well as create scalable and secure solutions of its own, that can ensure improvement in legacy processes and enhance operation and mission efficiencies, which will, in turn, produce cost savings.
