How LG’s Leading HealthCare Technologies Help Navigate Quality Medical Care

In a recent Q&A Moh’d AlFar, Sr. Business Development Manager, discussed how LG Electronics Medical Device Business Solutions are committed to providing industry leading healthcare technologies to help institutions navigate this change and accelerate the rollout of quality care.

What are your technologies in the healthcare sector?

With the rapid changes being experienced in the healthcare sector, demand on telemedicine will only continue to grow. LG’s latest innovations illustrate technology’s ability to empower more accurate diagnosis, treatment and overall patient care. LG’s Diagnostic Monitor features a large and bright 21.3-inch 3MP IPS display which facilitates the precise review of radiology images and mammography. With LG’s Multi-resolution Mode, users can adjust the resolution of the monitor to optimise the connected device with speed and ease.

In Pathology Mode, the 21HQ513D reproduces the same level of detail and colour accuracy as seen directly under a microscope. The Down and Wall Lighting Modes, along with an Auto Luminance Sensor, reduce the contrast between the monitor brightness and ambient lighting conditions, alleviating eye strain. LG’s 21HQ513D Diagnostic Monitor comes integrated with 5 Hot Keys for more intuitive operation.

Also, LG’s 14 x 17-inch Digital X-ray Detector (model 14HQ901G) features an oxide-based thin-film transistor (TFT) with electron transfer speeds up to 30 times faster than a conventional TFT. The 14HQ901G also improves the Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE) of the new oxide-based TFT by 28% to only 1 Ip/mm, compared to standard a-Si detectors.

The company’s 31-inch 12MP IPS Diagnostic Monitor for Mammography (model 31HN713D) features LG’s Multi-resolution Mode, Pathology Mode and Self-Calibration. Its One-Click Stand and ultra-lightweight body empowers users to freely adjust the tilt, height and swivel, reducing chronic pain caused by long hours of work.

Suffice to say, LG Business Solutions is committed to providing industry leading healthcare technologies to help institutions navigate this change and accelerate the rollout of quality care.

Which local institutions use your products?

LG’s medical devices first launched globally in 2016, and following global success, entered the Middle East and Africa market in 2018. Examples include working with leading endoscope and imaging manufacturers KARL STORZ, PENTAX Medical and GE Healthcare. Today, a number of medical institutions are utilising LG’s advanced technologies.

What’s more, LG is partnering with leading healthcare manufacturers and organisations such as the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Sheikh Khalifa Speciality Hospital, Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, and more.

What is your future outlook for the healthcare industry?

LG Business Solutions is committed to providing industry leading healthcare technologies to help institutions navigate this change and accelerate the rollout of quality care. LG offers a robust team of engineers and sales professionals to help in healthcare facilities to determine which technologies best cater to their workflow demands.

In addition to undergoing rigorous quality-assurance testing, each LG medical display has been meticulously measured and calibrated to meet stringent DICOM Part 14 guidelines. This is one of the measures we have taken to deliver accuracy and trust with our stakeholders.

Our solutions are also designed to be highly practical, promoting hygiene and easy to transport across different healthcare environments. Recently, LG presented its latest innovations within the medical display market at Arab Health 2022, illustrating technology’s ability to empower accurate diagnosis, treatment and overall patient care.

How has the medical display landscape changed as a result of the pandemic and increased hybrid working models?

COVID-19 has profoundly impacted the medical community. Hospitals, doctors’ offices and clinics found themselves overwhelmed with scans, having to modify workflows to keep healthcare staff and patients safe simultaneously. Looking ahead to the next phases of the pandemic and beyond, doctors will have to re-examine their workflows, optimise processes and elevate patient care. By using rapidly advancing communication technology, remote healthcare services have dramatically improved in quantity and quality alike. This is due to the need to review data remotely, and the diagnostic inaccuracies led by poor image displays as well as the difficulty in using medical displays while hospitals conduct service maintenance on the devices.

What is LG’s vision and strategy with regards to this part of the business?

LG Business Solutions aims to provide industry leading healthcare technologies to help institutions navigate this change and accelerate the rollout of quality care. Hospitals require display technology in various areas such as Consulting Room, Radiology Room, and Operating Room. LG provides an optimal medical display considering the needs of various users in the hospital.

The excellent quality of LG products accurately represents medical images, and various user-designed convenience functions which helps the medical staff. Through compliance and certification of medical device standards, LG products consistently and reliably deliver superior picture quality. Going forward, LG plans to create synergy with stakeholders in the digital medical imaging industry.

How does the medical display business fit in with LG’s overall focus on advancing health and hygiene in the B2B domain?

LG is committed to helping medical intuitions navigate this journey, offering bespoke consultation and a complete suite of solutions to aid accurate diagnosis and care. LG has years of experience in the field of display technology. Its product range includes monitors, laptops, projectors, cloud devices, and medical displays. A pioneer in healthcare technologies, this allows LG not only to satisfy the needs of targets on the vertical market but also to those of general consumers.

With the rapid changes in the healthcare sector, demand on telemedicine has only continued to grow. Telehealth solutions have shifted from being seen as a temporary measure to having clear, long-term benefits, from safety, practicality and accessibility standpoints. With this, the demand for diagnostic imaging equipment has peaked, and so has the complementary nature of requiring advanced medical monitors and digital x-ray detectors.

Through improved image quality, LG medical products can improve customer’s productivity levels and help medical partner’s business by constantly developing in-step with advanced technology.
