Nokia and Vodafone work together to address fraud

Nokia recently partnered with Vodafone Group to include the operator’s network APIs within its anti-fraud and authentication products.

This move is viewed as an attempt to step-up activity against cybercrime across Europe.

Starting in April, the duo plan to make the tools accessible on Nokia’s Network as Code (NaC) platform, a move which extends availability to app developers serving business, public sector organisations and consumers.

The companies stated Nokia’s NaC platform would ultimately expand access to Vodafone’s network APIs for developers, supporting commercial adoption and monetisation.

Using Vodafone’s 4G and 5G networks, the pair aim to simplify and reduce the cost of adapting apps for different countries.

Johanna Wood, Vodafone’s director of Network APIs, said the partnership with Nokia gives developers the resources they need to “help businesses combat fraud and provide enhanced digital experiences for their customers”.

Shkumbin Hamiti, VP of Network Monetisation Platform at Nokia, added the tie-up expands the “reach and impact of high-value network APIs”.
