RoboTami unveils robotic educational kit in the Middle East and Africa

robotamiUAE-based information communication and technology firm RoboTami hurled its first robotic educational kit with comprehensive curriculum from kindergarten to higher secondary grade in the Middle East and Africa region.

The concept has been introduced in the region with the collaboration of RoboTami, a South Korean brand of robotics educational kits with indigenous manufacturing and a joint research and development center with South Korean Government pertaining to global robotics education.

“Our aim is to shape the children by infusing them with hands on experiences of basic engineering and programing with logical thinking and problem-solving ability coupled with the creative convergence of STEAM educational model,” Khalid Al-Aswadi, head, Project RoboTami, Middle East.

He further added “the biggest dilemma of today’s youth is the bombardment of technological tools with leisure and fun on their heads that takes them away from reading productive books and focused learning. While keeping in mind the today’s requirement of the kids we have designed user friendly and interactive curriculum for teaching them robotics education on STEAM educational framework that allows them to refocus on reading with lots of fecund learning with fun.”

Jin-Heon Cho, marketing director, International, RoboTami, said while addressing the regional partner meeting in Dubai, “We have comprehensive robotic curriculum for different ages and it has been implemented in hundreds and hundreds of schools in more than twenty developed and developing countries. We have curriculum for the children ages from 05 to 15 years with different series like junior series, science lab series and ace lab series for educating child with the creative convergence of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.”

Cho further added “We also train and guide the school teachers about robotic education with complete integration of it with customise solutions with full fledge teachers training for schools so they transform same to the students.”

RoboTami Middle East will arrange training sessions for children ages from 05 to 14 years at different community centres and support schools and educational institutions for their extra curriculum activities by organising gaming contests and competitions throughout the region.

Al Razihi Group (Robot MEA) has officially launched RoboTami on March 16, 2017 during the GESS Exhibition Dubai and announced a campaign “educate to innovate” and is actively organising robotic workshop, events and competitions throughout the region with the help of big groups and partners.

Robotics is increasingly capturing the attention of the region’s enterprises and solution providers. One of the key challenges will be finding and developing the right talent to handle robotics related solutions and if students are exposed from early on, it could help in the long-term.
