Protect with ESET

Demes Strouthos, General Manager, ESET Middle East talks with Nitya Ravi of CPI about ESET’s latest offerings.

What new products, solutions and partnerships is ESET announcing at GITEX 2021?

This GITEX 2021, we are mainly focusing on our latest release which is the ESET PROTECT console. Console managing all our products via cloud or on premise.

We built our product bundles in such a way that covers all customer needs starting from home office to SMB’s, MSP’s and Enterprise customers. Depending on the subscriptions the customer selects, we can offer advanced security, encryption, cloud sandboxing, mail security including Microsoft office 365 security.

With enterprise customers, we have our ESET PROTECT Enterprise. We also offer advanced EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) solution which is our ESET Enterprise Inspector. We are also exhibiting products of our technology alliance partners – Safetica, Xopero and GREYCORTEX.

How important is GITEX 2021 for you for networking face to face with customers and partners post pandemic?

For us 2020 was very difficult with no meetings, customer visits, travelling or events. GITEX 2020 was our first in-person event last year. We were very glad to be there however there were only few to no customers. This year, GITEX 2021 is looking to be great! We are very busy, and we are happy to see that there are people from all over the world which is amazing.

GITEX has always been our focus event in the region. We believe in the event and have been participating in the same for more than 15 years. This is our opportunity to meet partners, customer’s, consultants and to showcase our products live.

What new technology trends do you see being widely adopted in 2022?

I will speak about cybersecurity. The pandemic forced customers to take several decisions. We see a lot of customers rethinking and changing the security policies in their companies. In my opinion, in the end, customers who implement Zero trust will be the ones who will have a secure environment.

Zero-Trust is an environment where users who are not authorized or authenticated will have access to data or applications. At ESET, we are working towards this direction to help customers in Zero-Trust environment.

Here in the Middle East, people are adopting new trends faster than they did 10 years ago. Now, especially after the pandemic they have a different and positive approach adopting latest technology which is very good.
