According to a recent Bloomberg report, Apple’s suppliers have upped production of iPhones in India by more than 50% in 2025. The country now accounts for about a quarter of total output of the company’s smartphones.
The news agency stated 55 million iPhones were assembled in India in 2025 compared with 36 million in 2024.
Since the US raised tariffs on China in March 2025, Apple shifted iPhone production for the U.S. market away from the country.
China, however, remained the largest producer of iPhones for Apple.
Apple suppliers expanded iPhone assembly in India in 2025 with new factories including a Tata Group site in Tamil Nadu and another run by Foxconn at its hub in Bangalore.
Taiwan-headquartered Pegatron is also a major supplier.
Apple produced all four of its iPhone 17 models in India, the first time it shipped the complete line-up from the nation at launch. India was also Apple’s fourth-largest market for shipments in 2025, after the US, China and Japan, data from IDC showed.
The analyst company previously stated Apple’s shipments increased 15.5 per cent year-on-year to 14 million units. Apple ranked in fifth place, with its market share rising from 8.2 per cent to 9.9 per cent.
