Meta Platforms has postponed the international release of its latest Ray-Ban branded AI spectacles which were originally scheduled for an early 2026. The company attributed this delay to limited stock and a higher demand in the U.S. where the wearable device is already available.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display model launched in its home market during September 2025. At the time, the company expected to release the device in the UK, Canada, France and Italy early this year.
However, in a product update released at CES 2026 on the 6th January, Meta Platforms noted the “first-of-its-kind product” had “extremely limited inventory”, with waiting lists for the spectacles extending well into this year.
“We’ll continue to focus on fulfilling orders in the US while we re-evaluate our approach to international availability,” it added.
Alongside the update on international sales, the company unveiled a number of new and pilot features for the wearable and Neural Band accessory which it asserted further increases the usefulness of the devices.
These include a fresh teleprompter, handwriting tool and an increase in the number of cities covered by a navigation tool.
The discreet teleprompter is promoted on helping users make corporate presentations or record social media videos, with the ability to upload content from a range of sources.
Its pilot EMG Handwriting tool provides the ability for customers to compose messages to be sent on WhatsApp or Messenger by using their fingers to form words on any surface.
Meta Platforms explained while wearing the Neural Band, users could have these “movements transcribed into digital messages”. They also have the option to select a suggested response during conversations.
