S.M. Hussaini, CEO, Almoayyed Computers Middle East, took the time to answer some questions concerning their hopes for GITEX Global 2021, insight into AI/ML trends and their take on security for cloud infrastructure.
Can you outline to our readers what products, solutions, or partnership agreements you’re announcing at GITEX Global 2021?
We shall be announcing the launch of StaffDynamics. It’s a product developed specially for the GCC and Middle East region as a bolt-on to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O. StaffDynamics enables the 360-degree management of human resources and related processes, throughout the lifecycle of the employee’s employment in an organisation. It is a feature-rich, intuitive, on-premise/cloud-based, user-friendly HR & Payroll platform, designed to increase productivity for businesses in the GCC region, by streamlining HR & Payroll processes and thereby increasing accuracy and visibility of data as per Middle East standards and requirements.
A lot is happening on the partnership front. I am very excited to announce our partnership with Sprinklr. This partnership with the world leader in Customer Experience Management will enable us to address a key requirement of our enterprise customers to create strategies and deliver better experience to their end customers based on the AI driven insight.
How important is it for your company to participate at GITEX Global 2021, in terms of getting to network face-to-face with your customers and partners?
There is no better platform than Gitex in the Middle East for the tech community to meet and network with each other. This five-day window is the most productive week we have during the entire year if we measure the quality and quantity of meetings we have, be it with our customers or with our partners. In addition, there is a host of activities running in parallel during the week such as award functions, business meetings and so on. The week sees a convergence of technology leaders and decision makers in Dubai.
Another key agenda we support is ensuring a strong showcasing of Bahrain Pavilion at Gitex. We bring together the leading companies in Bahrain as well as the startups at the Pavilion.
In your opinion, what are the key technologies that will fuel new innovations in 2022?
A new era is defined, that is the eventuality of the pandemic and digital transformation emerging prominently during this time. Technologies to support this new normal shall flourish in the coming years. Tools to support collaboration between people to people, device to device and application to application shall gain momentum and tools to make collaboration more insightful will lead to AI/ML adoption. Furthermore, the tools to make collaboration secure shall be mandatory leading to more point solutions in cyberspace. Big data handling shall fuel innovation across multiple verticals, healthcare, and finance sectors in particular. Cloud shall be the de facto platform and the urge to make digital transformation possible shall generate a lot of interest in modernising and enhancing applications using low code programming.
What new trends do you see emerging in the cybersecurity industry in 2022?
Cybersecurity threats are increasing multifold as we adopt more technologies. Organisations should probably start focusing more on risk acceptance and transfer rather than risk mitigation. Most of them shall look only at the baseline requirements and insurance as an alternative to building a security infra of their own. Business Email Compromise, SAAS security, Security of the cloud infrastructure across a multi cloud environment and insider threats shall occupy most people. Application security, analytics and visibility shall become more important for businesses as opposed to traditional security tied to firewalls, AV and access controls. Specialised industry specific security solutions shall be more important than generic product coverage. Probably we shall see the industry moving towards consolidated security portals covering hybrid data centres, cloud Apps, DevOps and so on.
