Bytes Technology launches storage unit in UAE

Bytes Technology Group Emirates, a subsidiary of Bytes Technology Group,a principal subsidiary of the Altron Group,  has announced the launch of a storage business unit in the UAE based on NetApp products.

Bytes is currently NetApp’s largest partner in Africa and has extensive experience in enterprise storage and data solutions, it was reported.

“The market for storage is showing tremendous growth in this part of the world, and we are excited about leveraging our NetApp relationship to drive solutions in the UAE market” said Rodney Barrell, MD of Bytes Emirates.  “We have developed a wide range of offerings in this space which add value to our customers, ranging from pro-active monitoring solutions to full storage infrastructure managed services offerings, and now is a great time to be introducing these to the local market”.

Bytes was recently awarded the Midsize Business Contribution Partner of the Year for EMEA during the NetApp EMEA Partner Summit held in the Netherlands, it was reported.

Martyn Molnar, MD NetApp Middle East said, “Bytes brings enterprise experience and credibility to the Middle East market, and we look forward to working with them to further serve our customers in the region.”

Bytes will be supported in their go to market efforts by Aptec Distribution, a regional technology distributor who has worked closely with NetApp for several years.  “It is great for us to be working with a reseller of the size and calibre of Bytes. Our storage and data business is one of the most important areas of our business, and our relationship with Bytes will strengthen our footprint in this area of the market” said Govind Haridas, business unit manager – Security and Storage at Aptec.
