SAMENA Telecommunications Council, the tri-regional, non-profit telecommunications industry association that embodies a community of South Asian, Middle Eastern, and North African telecoms operators, manufacturers, technology providers, and specialist ICT firms and Tech Mahindra will jointly hold the Beyond Connectivity (BYC 2018)Tech Mahindra Annual Communications, Media and Entertainment (CME) Summit 2018, themed “In The Future”

This event seeks to bring together representatives of the public and the private sectors, including leaders and top-ranking professionals from telecom operators, telecoms technology companies and leading consulting firms, active within the ICT arena.

To be held on April 5th in Dubai at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the one-day Summit will provide a strategic knowledge-sharing platform for SAMENA Council’s members and Industry leaders to discuss the evolving telecommunications landscape and industry challenges and will highlight themes such as AI and software transformation, IoT and smart cities, customer experience, networks, cloud, and security.

Bocar A. BA, CEO & Board Member of SAMENA Telecommunications Council said, “Dialogue, co-operation and co-ordination in understanding what the future holds for us are central to our ability in being able to make the most of the promises it holds. For this, we need to understand what lies in the future and how the presence of new technologies, new man-created intelligence, and hyper-connectedness, whereby more machines than humans will be connected on our telecom networks, will impact our digital experience. SAMENA Council values and encourages its member companies to take active part in defining industry agenda items that cater to the needs of all stakeholders. We are excited to note that Tech Mahindra is the first member of SAMENA Council to have ever joined the membership and proposed an agenda of a jointly-conducted conference in the first month of its joining. This is exactly the type of involvement our Board of Directors seeks from SAMENA Council’s member companies, to be able to build industry communication bridges with concerned stakeholders.”

Among other industry speeches, a keynote by Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of UAE’s Deputy Director General, H.E. Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, will be followed by addresses from seminar hosts, SAMENA Council and Tech Mahindra. Heads, partners and CEOs of telecom operators across South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa will participate in panel discussions along with Tech Mahindra and the ‘In the Future’ summit’s global sponsors Oracle, PTC, and Red Hat.
