Acer has taken the number one spot in notebook shipments worldwide for Q2 2012, market researcher Gartner has said.
Acer’s notebook market share of 15.4% demonstrated growth rates of 1.2% QoQ or 6.5% YoY, research showed.
Acer overhauled HP’s ranking from Q1 which previously topped the list with a 16.2% market share, shipping 8.9 million units in comparison to Acer’s 6.5.
The data also revealed that for total PCs, Acer ranked number three worldwide in Q2012, with 11.4% in market share. HP maintained the number one spot globally with an 11.4% market share,whilst Apple were the only vendor not to lose ground in the US.
