Panasonic releases new wireless speaker systems

Panasonic has announced the release of its two new styles of wireless speaker systems, the SC-NE5 and the SC-NE3.

Users can enjoy both sets of speakers regardless of the type of wireless technology – DLNA, AirPlay, or Bluetooth Wireless Technology. This is thanks to the Panasonic Music Streaming App, developed by Panasonic for a flexible playback of various forms of musical content. Users simply install the Panasonic Music Streaming App onto their smartphones, thus enabling them to stream music to the SC series wireless speakers.

The NE5 is a two-unit system with a separate docking/CD unit and a speaker unit. The docking/CD unit sends audio signals from CDs, iPhone 5 or iPod touch (5th generation) wirelessly to the speaker unit. This enables a multi-layout configuration, with the two units positioned separately. The slim, compact docking/CD can be placed in a handy location, and the speaker unit can be set up in an optimal room location for listening, enabling users to create an ideal listening space

In order to reproduce music with high fidelity, the NE series features a large number of sound-enhancing technologies, Panasonic said. All NE series models come with a two-way speaker system featuring a 3-1/8-inch long stroke woofer with nano-sized bamboo cone and a one-inch tweeter, and an aero stream port with a three-dimensional use to produce dynamic bass.

The corners and port entry/ discharge are rounded to enable smooth control of the airflow. Panasonic said this allows it to achieve rich bass reproduction with minimal distortion. Audio signals from an iPhone 5 or iPod touch (fifth generation) connected to the dock of an iPod, iPhone, or iPad connected via USB, are digitally transmitted without degradation by the digital music connection. The Pure Direct Sound function also minimises the effect of sounds reverberating off the speakers themselves.
