Acer said the new tablet is ideal for busy individuals seeking a convenient mobile companion.

The Iconia B1 announcement came with the launch of the Iconia A1, meaning the range offers a uniformed look and feel when searching for a tablet solution.

The B1 was introduced with other new products, too, including the Aspire R7, Aspire P3 Ultrabook, and Aspire V Series touch notebooks. Acer said that its new line of mobile products highlights the company’s focus on redefining the computing experience through progressive design.

Going back to the B1, the tablet combines a 1.2GHz dual-core or quad-core processor or quadand 1GB of memory for fast and smooth gaming, web browsing and video watching with Android’s Jelly Bean operating system. And for many search queries performed through VoiceSearch, users can now hear a spoken answer quickly.

The B1 comes with a front-facing camera. The camera is on the top right corner and also works when in landscape mode. The tablet is available with Wi-Fi or 3G data connection in either 8GB or 16GB guise with the option to add 32GB  via microSD.

Acer has geared this tablet to book-lovers, highlighting the Google Currents app. Over 500 free online magazines from hundreds of publishers and top web sites are available on the recently updated app. For gaming, Acer says there are more than 700,000 games and apps from the Google Play Store to choose from.
