Power management company Eaton has been awarded a contract to provide custom-designed lighting solutions for the Administration Facility at Kuwait University’s Sabah Al-Salem University City in Kuwait.

The Administration Facilities at Kuwait University will serve as the main gateway to the new campus.  The seven buildings, including cultural and convocation hall, conference centre, university library, visitor centre and a grand mosque will house the chief administrative and ceremonial functions of the campus, serving the needs of a student population of 40,000, faculty, administrators and visitors.

Working alongside key partner Khabari International, Eaton was awarded the contract to install a range of luminaries including bespoke ‘Koble’, designed and manufactured by Eaton’s UK Doncaster plant.

Ashraf Yehia, managing director, Eaton Middle East said, “Our Koble luminaries is a perfect fit for this modern building, providing an ideal blend of energy-efficiency and performance to help illuminate the architectural elements of this impressive university campus. The project leverages efficient solutions for this campus, which will be used by thousands of students daily, with lighting features that deliver exceptional light quality and uniformity to help enhance the buildings aesthetics.”

Eaton’s customised solution was tailored to the performance and effectiveness required by the project to complement the aesthetics of the building, mirroring the extensive double height senate chamber and class leading facilities. This was encouraged by Eaton’s commitment of in-house testing using calibrated photometric equipment in real life conditions, a comprehensive warranty and technical support providing additional reassurance to source with confidence.

The ‘Administration Building’ is the tallest building on campus, incorporating state of the art offices for the top administrators, president and secretaries at the university. With custom-design luminaires, the ‘Koble’ bespoke solution was designed combining the existing portfolio with the customer’s specification to create an aesthetically pleasing ceiling luminaire, delivering uniform lighting with continuous mounting

The Sabah Al Salem University City is being master planned as one of the largest campuses in the world with world class educational facilities equipped with most advanced teaching and learning resources.

Last year Eaton was also awarded a multi-million-dollar contract to provide complete xEnergy LV Systems, Power Distribution Components and Industrial Control solutions for the Administration facility.
