Dubai Municipality implements Kaspersky solutions

Dubai Municipality, the government organisation responsible for planning, designing, building and managing the municipal infrastructure and other related facilities and services of Dubai, has signed a products installation, training and service level of maintenance agreement with Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, to beef up its network security, reduce vulnerability and exposure to hackers, spam and virus.

A total of 3,600 Kaspersky antivirus work space security and 400 Kaspersky antivirus business space security licenses have been installed as part of the deal, further enhancing Dubai Municipality’s network protection.

Abdulla Abdulkarim Yousif, senior computer security officer, IS security section at ITD-Dubai Municipality said: “The rapid pace of change of Dubai has transformed the Municipality from one room with three employees in the early fifties into a large organisation with over 13,000 employees and 32 organisational units where deploying an enhanced security infrastructure became a must. Kaspersky Lab surpassed our expectations, and we are confident with the adoption of its products.”

Dubai Municipality users will receive extensive training from Kaspersky Lab’s technical team to help them familiarize themselves with the products’ features, and increase their awareness on key security measures.

“Post extensive assessments and testing on live environments, our products proved to be a cut above the rest. This project demonstrates our ability to provide governmental institutions with bespoke solutions that meet their discerning and sensitive needs,” said Tarek Kuzbari, MD at Kaspersky Lab Middle East.

“We are very proud to have won and implemented our superior integrated antivirus solutions across the network of Dubai Municipality, and we are confident that our licenses will be renewed next year. Kaspersky Lab has made an enormous progress in the corporate and government sectors and we are optimistic that our success in the Middle East consumer space will soon be matched by even higher adoption rate of our corporate line of products,” continued Kuzbari.
