Canon Middle East brought all its UAE channel partners under one roof highlighting business performance and innovative selling practices. Held at Hotel FIVE in Palm Jumeirah, this was the third edition of Canon’s Imaging Inspired channel partner event.
Held under the theme ‘Be Story Ready,’ the event saw over 150 key UAE channel partners of Canon in attendance.
Venkatasubramanian Hariharan, director, B2C Business Unit, Canon Middle East said, “With the evolving business landscape for technology companies, it has become all the more important to support and strengthen our partner network. In addition to building and sustaining relationships with our channel partners, the new brand proposition ‘Live for the story’ encourages them to better serve the growing demands of consumers and helps tell the best stories of their life. Through its renewed product ecosystem of Shoot (cameras), Remember (cloud services) and Share (printing), Canon plays an integral part in the consumer’s imaging journey.”
Securing the Canon Middle East Performance Awards this year were Sharaf DG in the DSLR and lens category, Majid Al Futtaim Retail – Carrefour in the Compact Cameras & Selphy section, and Advanced Media for the Pro-Imaging segment. Copier International won the Canon Middle East Performance Awards 2017 for the laser category of printers, Majid Al Futtaim Retail – Carrefour bagged the award for the inkjet category of printers as well, while Earth Gate Trading secured the award for printer consumables.
Acknowledging retailers for their innovative selling practices, Canon also awarded Jumbo Electronics the Best Customer Experience & Display, and Lulu Hypermarket for Innovative Selling Concepts as well as Best e-tailing & Social Media Collaboration.
This year, Imaging Inspired also witnessed the official launch of Canon’s Cloud Services: Irista, a cloud-based image management platform that stores files (images and videos) at full resolution, and photo-sharing cloud-based platform Lifecake, which is targeted at mothers-to-be and young mothers.
With a strong focus to reinforce its commitment to the community and bring people closer together, Canon Middle East said it is collaborating with influencers, schools and universities, and photo clubs, photographers and cinematographers to inspire them to share their stories.
“The way we tell a story today has changed significantly. At Canon, we want to be a catalyst for this transition from the beginning and help our partners and end-users communicate powerful messages through innovative technology. In order to do this successfully, it is essential to empower them with the best technological innovations of the future, which Canon is working towards,” added Hariharan.
In 2016, Canon Middle East had also recognised channel partners during its Middle East Channel Awards for their business performances and innovative selling practices.
