Bahrain telco suspends unregistered accounts

Zain Bahrain, a telecom services operator in the kingdom, has announced the temporary suspension of all non-registered post-paid SIM cards and home broadband lines.
The Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA)’s latest move aims to is aiming to protect customers against fraud and identity theft.
Customers with suspended lines have a grace period before December 2 to complete the registration process, after which their accounts will be permanently deactivated, said a statement from Zain.
Registration of Zain Bahrain post-paid SIM cards and home broadband lines can be completed at any of Zain Bahrain’s 19 stores.
Alternatively, Zain customers can register their accounts via the Zain Bahrain express delivery service, which can be completed by visiting www.eshop.bh.zain and requesting a trained representative to complete the service at your convenience.
Zain Bahrain customers are required to hold either a valid Bahraini CPR, a valid GCC national identity card, or valid passport in order to complete the registration process and reactivate their accounts.
