Veeam Software is escalating its presence in the Middle East region with the launch of its latest office in Dubai Media City. Located at Tower 1, Business Central Towers, the new office is twice the size from its previous location in Dubai Internet City, said the firm. The vendor is looking to continue its expansion plans and onboard new staff in 2018.

Post a high-growth quarter in the region, the company said that it is outdoing legacy vendors and has grown its enterprise customer base by 48.6 percent.

Earlier in the year, the company’s co-CEO Peter McKay had revealed ambitious plans to hit $1.5 billion by 2020 and with the reportedly significant success in its Middle East business, Veeam seems to be on track. The firm has reported a 86 percent year-on-year growth in total booking revenue in Q3 of this year for its regional business.

“The Middle East continues to be a fast-paced growth region, with high levels of innovation and people eager to adopt technologies that drive digitisation and ease the burden of growing data management tasks,” Gregg Petersen, regional sales vice president, Middle East and Africa, Veeam Software.

Petersen added that these ambitions compliment the firm’s technology proposition, which is enabling Middle East businesses to “deliver the digital life experience users expect with robust levels of data availability.”

He said, “We are now reiterating our commitment to the region by way of fresh investments and a new office. We believe we have a solid foundation that will enable us to enjoy even greater success in the region and have a massive FY’ 2018.”

The firm also announced that Saudi Arabia and UAE will continue to be critical growth-drivers for the business.

The ongoing focus on Smart Cities, Saudi’s Vision 2030 where technology is key to the country’s National Transformation Program, the World Expo 2020 in Dubai, plus trends such as cloud computing, big data, virtualization, security and mobility, make it clear technology has a vital role to play in the Middle East for many years to come,” said the firm.

The firm reiterated that engaged channel partners are important to ensure growth continues within its business. The 100-percent channel-led firm had announced a number of updates for its reseller community earlier in the year at its third global edition of VeeamON, reflecting its commitment to the partner business.

During the course of this year, Veeam’s Middle East operation has made several key developments with its reseller community, including  direct investment in channel pre-sales engineers to assist partners with development of projects. The firm also introduced ‘Veeam Partner Academies’, a series of half day and full day workshops that are co-hosted along with a distributor, to increase knowledge and ability to sell its solutions. In the recently unveiled, ‘Veeam Loyalty Program’, resellers are rewarded for net new business sales, offering points which they accumulate for deals closed.

The company said that during 2018, partners can look forward to further sales and channel enablement with a focus on training to upskill and enable them to own the entire pipeline of a customer journey.

The market can expect to see the vendor continuing its focus on cloud data backup and DRaaS, IaaS and SaaS data protection and cross cloud data protection solutions.

The firm said, “Veeam partners have doubled the number of virtual machines they’re backing up year-over-year. Clearly, the cloud is a critical component of where we’re focusing as the number one availability provider for any app, any data, any cloud.”
