The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre has shortlisted a total of 95 applicants, including 75 men and 20 women, for the UAE Astronaut Program, WAM reported.
The UAE Space Agency is vital in promoting the nation’s stature as an advanced country in the area of space science, according to Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills and Chairman of the agency.
Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, MBRSC, a Dubai Government entity which aims to promote scientific innovation and technology advancement in Dubai and the UAE will unveil an Astronaut suit for the very first time along with a mock module of Mars city and Astronaut’s food which will be available for visitors to try.
Over 3,000 candidates have successfully completed the online registration, 60 percent of who are STEM qualified and over 20 percent are pilots.
